Fish, plans and law

Well... I have some fishy prints here. I really like fish =D to eat and to make prints off that is. This is one of my favorite small prints I made for my /steampunk series that I'm planning to make. This is a special print for me. My teachter didn't like it at all! He said it was to comicbook-like, like a lot of the things I make. But I wanted to include it in my latest group exhibition (that, sadly, just ended. I've collected my remaining prings just now) in the Faculty of Law in Leiden. Funny is that this small print cought the attention of multiple people! Guess more people thought it was cute, just like myself.

What it is with fish? I don't really know. When in Japan I found out I was sort of interested in Koi. I could stare at them for hours, pretty sad ne!
But, they are interesting when looking at the designs they come in! But, the goldfish and Koi are my favorits at the moment, so more fishy prints can be expected!

The plans for next weeks are combined with law. Me and some of my academy collegues are currently working on this project to combine law with art. We have some law related texts and it's up to us to provide these texts with suiting prints. Very interesting since some of the tests are pretty abstract! I've been working on one that I'm planning into making into an etching pretty soon, hopefully next week.

Apart from that, I'm having fun making fishy prints =D

Cheers!

First entry, some old works and a warm welcom

Hello and welcome on my personal art blog.
Here you will find the latest updates of my printing works.

As this is the first entry, I would like to present some older works.

These are three of my works from two different periods.

The first is one of my etchings from the series "Lamia" I made during my last year in the academie. After that year, I went to Japan and learned a new technique: woodcut. I fell in love with it. The second image is my first woodcut I ever made.

The third image is a mezzotint, also made in Japan, which took a lot of time and effort to complete

I hope to show you new work soon!

regards,

Melissa
